Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Cultivate program Training of Trainers (ToT). This application will allow you to choose from our three upcoming trainings:

  • Virtual: April 7-10, 2026, 12:00pm ET - 5:00pm ET daily. Application deadline is March 2, 2026.  Applicants will be notified by March 11, 2026.
  • New York City: June 9-11, 2026,  9:00am-5:00pm ET, daily. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and applicants can expect to hear back within 30 days of applying.
  • Kansas City: August 18-20, 2026,  9:00am-5:00pm CT, daily. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and applicants can expect to hear back within 30 days of applying.

Important items for consideration:

  • For each ToT, 20 participants will be selected. For in-person trainings, 10 of these participants will be local to the training area.
  • This training is for people with HIV who want to expand their leadership and engagement in health care planning and programs.
  • You must complete the entire application to be considered.
  • We must receive letter of support in our provided template (HERE) for your application to be complete. This support person can be from a community leader, a planning council support staff, your employer, or a community partner. The person who writes the letter will need to express their intention to support you in delivering a local training after the ToT. This should include their experiences with you and outline any support they can provide (i.e., facilitation and/or funding) for your success with your local training. The letter of support is due at the time you are submitting your application.
  • By participating in this program, you are committing to coordinating and facilitating a local training within four months after the ToT. You will facilitate this local training in your community. You will receive training resources and coaching from ToT trainers to prepare you to deliver your local training.
  • If selected to participate, you must commit to completing the ToT pre-work. The ToT pre-work includes reviewing online training modules and preparing to facilitate a module during teach-back sessions at the ToT.
  • You will be notified by email if you are accepted into the Cultivate program. After notification, you will have five business days to confirm your attendance.
  • AIDS United will enter into consulting agreements with ToT trainees. ToT trainees will be compensated for time and effort for ToT training time and completion of post-ToT training goals. The consulting agreement will outline the terms and conditions.
